v2.10.0 Major Release

Youth Soccer Rotation Planning

Coaches can now turn roster math into a named, shareable rotation sheet before kickoff, then carry the plan into live match tracking.

  • Format-specific rotation guide

Start with practical substitution decisions for 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11, including bench size, field roles, and repair choices when the match changes.

    Read the rotation guide →
  • Named printable rotation sheets

Enter player names, match format, periods, and rotation windows to generate a sideline-ready table you can print or save as a PDF.

    Build a rotation sheet →
  • Share the starting setup

Copy a link that preserves the format, roster size, game length, period structure, and rotation interval so an assistant can open the same plan.

v2.9.0 Major Release

Live Match Formations, Lineup Positions & Drill Builder Updates

Pitch Planner makes live match control easier on the sideline with touch-friendly position changes, more reliable minute records, clearer lineup labels, and better drill-building controls on iPad.

  • Live formation changes

Change to any formation supported by the match format while a match is live or paused. Pitch Planner keeps the current players on the field, saves the new shape, and records their positions.

    Open Match Day →
  • Touch-friendly live pitch controls

Drag players with touch or pen input, or tap one player and then another slot to swap positions. If multiple players share a persisted slot, the live pitch keeps everyone visible.

  • More reliable match minutes and summaries

Player times sync after substitutions and before leaving the match page, then rebuild from the saved substitution timeline when you return. Match summaries use actual elapsed time, including extra time.

  • Preferred positions in lineup building

Bench players now show their saved preferred positions, while players on the field continue to show the tactical slot position assigned in the lineup.

  • Drill builder on iPad

The drill builder uses a split layout at iPad widths, adds smaller/larger controls for selected markers, preserves per-marker sizes when reopening a saved drill, and keeps player detail borders white across colors.

  • Coach read: shape or decision?

A match can look organized before a substitution, then lose its wide outlet when the new shape gives a player a different job. The key tension is whether the formation is wrong or the player is making the wrong decision inside a workable shape.

  • A 7v7 scenario and diagnosis

Imagine a U10 7v7 team building out against a high press. After a substitution, the right-sided player drifts inside and the first pass goes straight back to the opponent. If the field slot changed during a formation switch, diagnose a tactical-role problem and use the slot shown on the pitch. If the slot is correct, diagnose a coaching-cue or spacing problem instead.

  • Use this match-day branch

If the shape is wrong, switch to another valid formation and drag the player or tap two slots to swap them. If the shape is right but the player still drifts inside, keep the formation and write one cue for the next practice: “check wide before the center back receives.”

  • Make the next session observable

At the next session, recreate the same 7v7 shape, give the cue before the first repetition, and record whether the wide player creates one usable outlet in three consecutive attacks. Use the result to decide whether to add pressure or simplify the space.

v2.8.0 Major Release

8v8, Quarter Matches & Player Development Reports

Pitch Planner now supports more match formats and gives coaches a clearer view of each player's development.

  • 8v8 and quarter-match support

Create and manage 8v8 matches, choose halves or quarters as the team default, override the match structure for an individual match, and set custom durations for each half or quarter.

    Open Match Day →
  • Live quarter controls

Live matches now show Q1 through Q4, quarter breaks, End Quarter, and Start Next Quarter controls when a match uses quarters.

  • Period-aware rotation planning

Rotation plans can schedule substitutions at period breaks while keeping the goalkeeper in place.

  • Match summaries and exports reflect match structure

Match summaries and exported reports now include the selected halves or quarters structure and the configured period lengths.

  • Player development profiles

Open player profiles from the roster and season statistics to review position minutes, season totals, match history, statistics, match summaries, and private coaching notes that accumulate over time.

  • Printable player development reports

Print or download a player development report containing position minutes, coaching notes, season totals, and match history.

    Review player minutes →
  • Goalkeeper alerts follow the assigned slot

Goalkeeper alerts now follow the player currently assigned to the goalkeeper slot, rather than anyone whose preferred position is goalkeeper.

  • Grouped bench-time alerts

Simultaneous bench-time alerts are now grouped into one notification so the sideline is easier to scan.

  • More reliable live substitutions

Live substitutions are less likely to trigger request-limit errors during a match.

  • Accurate quarter rotation reminders

Quarter rotation reminders remain accurate when a previous quarter runs into added time.

  • Teams with completed matches can be deleted

Teams containing completed matches and player statistics can now be deleted successfully.

v2.7.0 Major Release

Session Planning, Visual Drills & Tournament Workspaces

Pitch Planner now adds a full session-planning workflow, a visual drill builder, and clearer tournament workspaces.

  • Session Planning beta

Build, save, reorder, and print practice timelines from the drill library or your own activities. Add session and drill-specific notes, set the date, format, age group, and level, then save a full color or black-and-white PDF handout with diagrams and coaching points.

Explore the soccer session planner →
  • Visual Drill Builder

Create private drills on full-field, half-field, penalty-area, and grid templates. Add markers, goals, equipment, labels, zones, and movement lines, then move, duplicate, recolor, resize, and rotate the diagram until it is ready to share.

  • Tournament workspace beta

Tournament organizers now have dedicated navigation for competition formats, teams, registrations, venues, fixtures, scores, standings, calendars, and public registration flows while those public flows continue to be refined.

  • Support and navigation polish

In-app bug reports now capture page context and reproduction steps for the admin review queue. Feedback prompts, hover-labelled shortcuts, context-aware sidebars, light-mode fixes, and clearer beta labels make newer workspaces easier to use.

v2.6.3

Tournament Scorekeepers

Tournament organizers can now invite limited-access scorekeepers to update scores and match events without handing over full tournament admin controls.

  • Scorekeeper role for Tournament & League Builder

Invited scorekeepers can access private tournaments, enter or update match scores, and manage match events while setup, scheduling, venue, and publishing controls remain organizer-only.

  • Organizer invite management

The Share tab now includes a scorekeeper panel with invite sending, pending invite tracking, and member removal controls.

  • Tournament invite inbox

Users can accept or decline tournament scorekeeper invites from a dedicated dashboard invite page.

v2.6.2

Tournament Blackout Dates

Organizers can now mark tournament-wide blackout dates that must stay empty. The scheduler skips those dates, and drag-and-drop moves are blocked if they land on a blacked-out day.

  • Organizer blackout date controls

Add and remove blocked dates from the Scheduling dialog. The blackout list saves with the tournament settings.

  • Scheduler enforcement

Automatic schedule generation now omits every blackout date before assigning venue slots.

  • Guarded manual rescheduling

Calendar drag-and-drop moves and match-save requests are rejected when they target a blackout date.

v2.6.1

Drag-and-Drop Schedule Editor

The tournament calendar now works as a guarded schedule editor. Organizers can drag scheduled matches to new time slots.

  • Drag-and-drop match moves

Move a scheduled match directly inside the tournament calendar. Successful drops immediately reschedule the match.

  • Guarded slot validation

Drops are blocked when the target time is outside the venue slot pattern, already occupied, or would double-book a team.

  • Constraint-aware scheduling edits

Team blocked dates, venue restrictions, and shared-coach conflicts are checked before a drag move is saved.

v2.6.0 Major Release

Cross-Team Dashboard, Pass & Shot Tracking

View all your players, matches, lineups, and attendance across every team from a single page. Track passes and shots during matches. Extra time now displays correctly.

  • Cross-team aggregate pages

New pages show data across all your teams in one place — no need to switch between teams.

  • Pass and shot tracking

Log passes and shots as team-level match events. Totals appear on the summary page and CSV export.

  • Extra time display

When a match runs past full time, the clock now shows overtime with a full-time banner. 15-minute hard cap per half.

  • Player cards with position tags

Players are now displayed as cards with position badges. Edit a player position inline.

  • Pitch diagram improvements

Goal posts, penalty areas, and GK zone added. Badges scale dynamically.

v2.5.1

Tournament Calendar Sync

Publish stable iCal feeds for full competitions and individual teams. Subscribe from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook.

  • Tournament-wide iCal feed

Every tournament can expose a subscribable calendar URL that updates as fixtures are scheduled, moved, canceled, or completed.

  • Per-team fixture feeds

Each team gets its own stable iCal URL so coaches and families can follow only that team matches.

v2.5.0 Major Release

Goals, Assists & Team Feed

Track goals and assists during live matches with a simple two-tap flow. Share updates with parents through a public team feed — no login required.

  • Goal and assist tracking

Two large buttons on the live match page. Tap Goal or Assist, then tap the player — done.

  • Public team feed for parents

Generate a shareable link for your team. Post announcements, schedule changes, and match updates.

  • Auto-generated match summaries

After a match, one tap generates a summary with goal scorers, assists, and top minutes.

  • Season stats with goals and assists

The season stats page now tracks total goals and assists per player.

v2.4.0 Major Release

Match Day & Team Manager Tools

Two powerful new tools join the Fixture Generator. Match Day lets you build lineups, plan rotations, and track playing time. Team Manager handles rosters, attendance, and coach roles.

  • Match Day tool

Lineup builder, rotation planner, live timer with tap-to-sub, and per-player minute tracking.

  • Team Manager tool

Player rosters, practice attendance logging, and coach/manager role invitations.
